At first glance, this looks like an easy counting puzzle.
You see a bowl filled with oranges, so the question seems simple:
How many oranges are there?
Some people say 10.
Others count 11.
Some even get 12 or more.
But before you answer, take a closer look! 🔍
Several oranges are fully visible, while others are partially hidden behind the ones in front.
If you count every orange that is at least partially visible, you can find 11 visible oranges.
But here’s the tricky part…
Can you really say there are only 11 oranges in the bowl?
Not necessarily.
Some oranges could be completely hidden behind the visible ones. Since we only have a 2D view of the bowl, there’s no way to know what might be hiding underneath or behind the others.
ANSWER: 11 visible oranges 🍊
If the question is “How many oranges can you see?”, the answer is 11.
But if the question is “How many oranges are actually in the bowl?”, there is no definite answer.
There could be 11, 12, 13, or even more if some are completely hidden.
🧠 The real test is critical thinking:
Don’t just count what you see—ask whether the image gives you enough information to know the answer for certain.
